PAT
DENNIS
DB | (5-11, 200, 4.55 E) | Louisiana-Monroe
by Pro Football Weekly
Drafted by: Kansas City, Pick 33, Round 5 , Overall 162
Notes:
High school quarterback. Redshirted in 1996. Started every game the
past three years. Had 65 tackles, eight passes broken up and three
interceptions in '97; 75-18-7 in '98, when he returned his seven interceptions
for 196 yards and two TDs; and 40-10-3 in '99, when he also scored
on a punt return. Had another year of eligibility remaining but decided
to enter the draft.
Positives: Has
good size for a cornerback. Durable. Did not miss a game in three
years. Can make plays on the ball. Made a lot of big plays in '98
before opponents started staying away from him.
Negatives: Needs
to continue to develop his skills, footwork and techniques. Does
not appear to have great speed or jumping ability by NFL CB standards.
May lack some catch-up ability.
Summary: Probably
could have used another year in school, but he has a chance to develop
into a player.
