Notes: Arkansas state high-jump champion in high school. Also was a hurdler, football and basketball player. Was ineligible to play at Nebraska in '94 and did not have a scholarship. Got a scholarship and earned a letter in '95, when he had 16 tackles and two passes broken up. Alternated at free safety in '96 and blocked three punts on special teams. Ended the year with 39 tackles, three interceptions and three passes broken up. Started all but one game in '97 but was considered a disappointment until late in the season. Ended up with 52 stops, two picks and four passes broken up. Did not run the 40 or lift at the combine, but had remarkable marks in the agility drills and jumps. Positives: Good-plus athlete who tests as a great athlete. Has a 40-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-plus broad jump, runs the 20-yard agility drill in under 4.0 consistently, does the 60-yard shuttle drill in less than 11 seconds and the three-cone drill in about seven seconds. Moves well. Fluid. Jumps very well. Has good enough feet and hips to try at cornerback. Kick-blocker on special teams. Closed the year much better than he began it. Negatives: Missed too many tackles and hung back too much against the run until late in the season. May not be physical enough to be a safety or have the right speed-fluidity-ease of motion mix while turning to be a top cornerback. Summary: Must build off the positive things he did late in the season. Information provided by Pro Football Weekly
