Larry Parker
WR | (6-0 7/8, 200, 4.45) | USC
Drafted by: Kansas City, Pick 13, Round 4 , Overall 108
by Pro Football Weekly

Notes: Top high-school hurdler and jumper. High-school All-American on the gridiron. Came in as a true freshman and caught 14 passes for 137 yards. Started in 1995 and caught 25-270 and returned 29 punts for 266 yards. Had a lot of injury problems and a one-game suspension in 1996 and just started once. Finished the season with 10 catches for 129 yards and six punt returns for 32 yards. Redshirted in '97 after having surgery on his left foot. Missed spring ball in '98, but he did come back to catch 25-476 with a touchdown (his first regular-season TD reception at USC), along with 21 punt returns for 97 yards. Only started once as a senior.

Positives: Has good size and excellent straight-line speed. Good athlete. Looks the part. Makes some nice catches. Improved performance and work ethic as a senior.

Negatives: Had a really inflated opinion of himself earlier in his career and did not seem to work as hard as he should have. Long strider who lacks great quickness at the break points. Inconsistent hands.

Summary: Looks the part and has excellent measurables but must do a better job of getting the most out of his ability. That means he must improve his focus on the ball and learn how to better utilize his speed.
